Mrs. Johanna Redemann, aged ninety years and seven days, the oldest German inhabitant in this vicinity, died Tuesday morning at 6 o’clock of old age. Death took place in the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. C. Berger, at 22 East Main street, with whom she had always resided here. Deceased was born in Lochtum, Germany, Nov. 8, 1808. She came to this country, June 9, 1853, and for 45 years was resident in Webster.

A year ago last April she fell and injured her knee, and since that time she had been confined to bed. Deceased was the widow of Godfrey Redemann, a volunteers soldier of Co. I, Fifteenth Massachusetts regiment. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Berger, at whose home she died, and Mrs. August Sellig, also of Webster. She also leaves one son, Frank Redemann, of North Brookfield, and 11 grandchildren.

The funeral was at 9 o’clock Thursday morning, in the St. Louis church, Rev. P. J. O’Malley officiating. The bearers were; F. H. and August Berger, James and George Redemann, and Louis W. and Fred Sellig, all grandsons of the deceased.
