Some items of interest in connection with James Oxford,
a Scottish Highlander with an English name.
Urquhart Uniform Fraser (Lovat)
The badge of clan Urquart. A highland regimental uniform of the type and period as worn by James Oxford.  The North Fencible regiment coat was beige, but the styling and Black Watch tartan were the same. The badge of clan Fraser (Lovat).
For those who may not be familier with the Battle of Culloden (!), see the history HERE.
The Highland Clearances also certainly played a role in the life of James Oxford.
Read about them HERE.
