  • James Everett Oxford was born in Sep 1816 at Miramichi, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Mathew Oxford and Mary Sweezey.
  • In 1851 James Everett Oxford was enumerated in the 1851 Canadian census at Colborn, Restigouche County, New Brunswick, Canada, apparently, since the 1851 Canada census index shows a James Oxford, 30, Scot, laborer in the home of Vaughan Gilbreath (Colborn/Restigouche, p. 18) This still needs confirmation. slh Oct 2004.
  • Bt 1859 - 1860 James Everett Oxford married Mary Bard at Ashland, Aroostook County, Maine.
  • The Courtney Papers (V2) say he married a "Miss Bard of St. Stephens", but the surname name of her daughters suggests that she was "Mrs. CAIN" at the time of her marriage to James E. Oxford. And the 1860 census suggests that her maiden name may have been Field. Please contact the Webmaster if you have further information.

M, b. c 1819, #71
  • James Aribildo was also known as James Archibald (A very theoretical guess for this family; needs proof.).
  • He was born c 1819; Ireland or possibly Maine or New Brunswick , Canada.
  • Note: Mary Ann's father is given in two different documents, once as Aribildo, and once as Arribon. However, these names appear not to exist. There were a number of Archibald families in Northumberland, New Brunswick, around the time of her birth. A current theory is that she may have been one of them.
